1. film

Films not exceeding 180 seconds aired on TV, Cinemas or online

2. Print

Any printed content aired in newspapers or magazines.

3. outdoor & innovative media

Any printed content aired in Out of Home, Posters and Point of Sale. The category also includes ambient, special build and innovative media ideas – smart and unexpected uses of space or format that break away from traditional advertising.

4. radio

Any audio content aired on radios.

5. creative strategy

Smart thinking that shapes a strong creative idea – from insights to planning – helping a brand stand out and make an impact. 

6. integrated camp

Work using multiple (at least 3) different platforms. Entries should demonstrate how a Big Idea was executed on different channels/media and how the various media complemented and built on each other. For example – Print, Event and Radio – or TV, Billboard and online, etc.

7. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS & COMMUNICATION

Campaigns aligned with any of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. Or any cause communication campaigns harnessing creativity to impact the world positively will be celebrated.

8. BRAND ACTIVATION & EXPERIENCE

Any work that showcases how activations, events and experience design create engaging experiences with audiences at any customer journey touchpoint.

1. CRAFT

Focusing on art, skill and talent that delivers beautifully executed ideas that brings the creative idea to life. Entries with exceptional execution in (but not limited to) Copywriting, Art Direction, Illustration including 3D, Typography, Photography, Film Editing, Use of Music, Sound Design, Motion Graphics & best use of AI. Entries should specify the specific craft concerned and a work that uses AI can be only submitted under best use of AI.

2. LOGO & BRAND IDENTITY

Creation or rebranding of a logo and brand identity for any product, service or organisation. Entries should include the logo and any brand collaterals that support the brand identity and graphic language.

3. PACKAGING

Any packaging design.

4. FINANCIAL

Any financial publication, such as an Annual Report, which may also include an online microsite. This category celebrates visual storytelling and narrative copy that engage the reader throughout the report.

5. EDITORIAL & COLLATERAL DESIGN

Any publication such as (but not limited to) brochures,
magazines, books, etc. Also includes (but not limited to) calendars, invitations, postcards, tickets and seasonal greeting cards.

1. SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS

Work in this category will be judged on how engaging, creative and viral the campaigns have been with their online communities. Work may have aired on one or multiple social media platforms.

2. DIGITAL COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN

Campaigns that have been aired on more than one digital platform, including, but not limited to: microsite, banners, social media, applications, metaverse, games etc.

3. WEBSITE, APPLICATIONS & PLATFORMS

Any website, application or digital platform. Entries will be judged on their design features.

4. BRANDED CONTENT

Any film over 180 seconds, series, fiction, documentary/ reality film etc. This category also accepts audio content (excluding radio), such as branded podcast, audiobooks, audio documentaries.

5. BEST USE OF AI OR TECHNOLOGY

A creative use of AI or other creative technologies to promote a brand – whether through image, music, video, experience or platform.

1. MEDIA RELATIONS

Entries rooted in earned media that demonstrate how original thinking, transformative insight, and storytelling have influenced opinion and driven business, societal, or cultural change. This includes the handling of a significant issue or crisis, where the agency demonstrated both responsiveness and strategic precision to manage and safeguard the reputation of a brand, company, or individual.

2. CORPORATE COMMUNICATION

A campaign in which the company or CEO is
strategically positioned over time through impactful
employer branding, messaging, or actions. This includes corporate events, targeted communications such as financial, advocacy, and lobbying campaigns, as well as other forms of stakeholder engagement.

Eligibility period:

01 July 2023 - 30 June 2025

Only work that was aired, published, or made public for the first time during this period is eligible for entry.

FLAME FESTIVAL 2025 SPARK

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

WHAT CAN BE SUBMITTED TO THE FLAME AWARD?

Entries must be created by agencies, companies or freelancers registered in the eligible region mentioned above. Agencies, companies and freelancers outside these regions are not eligible to participate, even if the work targets the region. However, agencies, companies and freelancers from the eligible region may submit work created for countries outside the region, as long as they have been conceived in the region. Entries must be commercially published, launched or aired to a substantial audience for the first time between 1st July 2023 to 30 June 2025.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Open to anyone in Brand Communication – including Advertising, PR, Design, Live Events, Sponsorships, Digital, Social Media, Music Videos, etc – from eligible countries: Mauritius, Rodrigues, Reunion Island, Madagascar, Mayotte, Seychelles & Comoro Islands

CATEGORY RULES

Each execution may be entered in only one main category (e.g. Print OR Outdoor, not both). The same work may be re-entered in Campaign or Craft categories.

ENTRY CREDITS

All credits submitted must be 100% accurate. They will appear exactly as entered during the Awards ceremony.

PROPERTY & USAGE RIGHTS

All materials submitted become property of the Flame Award. The organisation reserves the right to use, publish, reproduce, and broadcast any entry material for promotional and educational purposes globally.

WARRANTIES

Entrants must have all necessary permissions and rights from third parties involved in the creation and production of the work.

INDEMNITY & LIABILITY

Entrants indemnify the organisers against any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from the entry, its content, or any breach of rights.

CANCELLATION, APPROVALS & REFUNDS

ENTRY CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

  • All withdrawal requests must be made in writing.
  • Before the deadline, entries may be replaced.
  • After the deadline, entries cannot be replaced.
  • No refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
  • Fees cover administration, processing, and judging.
  • Disqualified entries (duplicates or rule violations) will not be
    refunded.

APPROVALS

  • All entries must have client approval.
  • The client must consent to the entry and its use under the Awards’ terms.
  • Do not enter work that is subject to third-party agreements or licenses without proper consent.

IMAGES

  • All images must be in JPEGS
  • 7063 (w) x 5008 (h) pixels
  • 300 dpi
  • File size is 5MB – 15MB per image
  • Maximum of 10 JPEGS
  • Text must be legible when projected to a screen
  • Submit close-up of small details that need to be seen by the jury

Film

  • All non-English entries must have English subtitles
  • Overview videos must be 2 mins or less / less than 400MB
  • 1280 (w) x 720 (h) or 1920 (w) x 1080 (h) pixels
  • 25fps (Frame Rate per Second)
  • Accepted file format is MOV or MP4
  • Maximum Size = 400MB

  • In addition to the overview, you may submit the full-length work which be viewed at the judges’ discretion
